FS#1238 - Weird Nether Glitch
It's very hard to explain. I took a lot of pictures of blocks spawning and converting and illuminating light in the nether after breaking it and after a few seconds.

I would also like to add...I didn't move or looked at a different direction
Seems like you were at a place where it just generated new chunks and triggered netherbridge generation.
That means your client went out of sync with the server.
I just did some quick tests. In general the nether is always a bit more illuminated compared to the other worlds.
But if you had blocks randomly spawning it was a client/server sync issue, you still saw blocks were the server already had air.
I'm sure a relog would have fixed it.
