FS#1041 - GUI Notepad
I think this would be a great feature to add to the already awesome GUI without having to use a third-party notepad or messy paper notes that I personally tend to lose. Benefits of this would include allowing players to create to-do lists, save mining world coordinates, as well as other important information. Tabs for separate documents/sections would be a nice addition as well.
This is way more work than you might think.
I could add a GUI that works like /report. But those java guis are pretty ugly and look and work different on different platforms (linux/windows/mac)
But it would kick you out of fullscreen. So it wouldn't have any advantage over an external editor.
Overall this feature, for what its used, is not worth the time implementing.
Making an ingame multiline editor with all basic features (multiline selection, line wrapping, copy/paste, scrolling) could take 50 hours or more to implement.
If you wanted formatting (font-size, bold/italic, coloring) I could see this taking 200 hours to get done.
Sorry
